#3OT: Louisiana Ragin Cajuns vs Arkansas Little Rock

Posted by clintdomingue on January 2, 2017 in Featured

3ot-cajuns

Welcome everyone to the latest #3OT where I break down what went right and what went wrong for the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns! In this edition, I look at the Cajuns win over Arkansas Little Rock.

1st OT: Efficient from Inside Arc

While the Cajuns had issues from beyond the arc on Monday night, it was their ability to get things done from inside that shined. They had gone 30-of-53 from the entire field, but when you take away their 7-of-21 night from three point range they were actually quite good from within. They were 72 percent from inside and ended their night with 36 points inside the paint. If they can get things done inside, perhaps the Cajuns could begin to get away from shooting so many threes.

2nd OT: Foul Troubles

The Cajuns got into some foul trouble during the contest with Justin Miller leaving the game early, and having Frank Bartley get four on the night was not what they wanted to happen. What is so bad about this is that it allowed the Trojans to get more chances behind the charity stripe and it worked out pretty well as they were 8-of-10 on the night. The Cajuns can’t have key players like Miller and Bartley get into foul trouble in key games like this one.

3rd OT: Big Win Moving Forward

One of the biggest keys for the Ragin Cajuns during this trip through the state of Arkansas was to come away with at least one win. Little Rock had given this team fits last season and Arkansas State has been a thorn in their side as well so it was crucial that they could get out of one of those two stadiums with a win. If they had gone 2-0, even better because it establishes a tone early on in conference play. There are still some tough opponents they have on the road, but getting things started against the defending Sun Belt champions is a good start for a team that looks better than last season’s squad.
