A New Orleans native is coming home.
After three and a half seasons with the Orlando Magic and the second half of the 2018 season with the Phoenix Suns, Elfrid Payton agreed to a one-year deal with the New Orleans Pelicans, as first reported by Adrian Wojnarowski.

The former Louisiana Ragin Cajun averaged 12.7 points, 4.3 boards, and 6.2 assists per game in the 2017-18 season for the Magic and the Suns.
