The New Orleans Saints may have gotten a little extra help from an unlikely source: Matt Bowers, the owner of a Slidell, LA car dealership and Saints fan.
Bowers offered to hook up Detroit Lions quarterback David Blough with a brand new 2020 Silverado or F150 truck, or whatever he wants if the Lions beat the Green Bay Packers on Sunday.
His message was sent to Blough via Twitter on Christmas Eve.
Because the Saints do not control their destiny in the playoffs, they would benefit from a Lions victory. Of course, the Lions (3-11-1) might need the extra motivation because they are currently 9.5-point underdogs to the visiting Packers.
The worst New Orleans can do is the No. 3 seed. A Saints victory over the Panthers this Sunday combined with a 49ers loss at Seattle and a Packers loss would give the Saints the No. 1 seed.
If the 49ers win and the Packers lose, this scenario would put the Saints in the No. 2 seed.
