There’s still a little more than 200 days before the 2020 football season begins, but the University of Louisiana Ragin‘ Cajuns are starting to make plans for the future.
The program announced on Tuesday that they will have a home-and-home series against the UAB Blazers. The two teams will face off for the first time since 2002 when the Cajuns travel to Birmingham, Alabama on September 16th, 2023. The Blazers, who brought back their football program in 2017, will return the favor and travel to Cajun Field on September 19th 2026.
Looking at the future schedules for the Cajuns, the first matchup will be the third non-conference game slated for 2023 alongside matchups on the road against Minnesota (Sept. 30) and at home against New Mexico State (Oct. 14). When the Cajuns and Blazers square off in 2026, the only other non-conference game announced is the return trip to Wyoming on September 26th
Louisiana trails the all-time series, 4-2, but owns a 2-1 record inside the friendly confines of Cajun Field.
Louisiana kicks off the 2020 campaign on Saturday, Sept. 5, when it welcomes in-state foe McNeese State to Cajun Field.
