ASTROS GAMER: Correa Helps Astros Stave Off Elimination Yet Again

After going down 3-0 in the ALCS, the Houston Astros have only needed to do one thing: play for another day. Thursday night saw them get one step closer to tying this series up with a 4-3 win following a walk off home run by Carlos Correa.

How It Happened:

The Houston Astros wasted little time getting on the board with George Springer leading things off in the bottom of the first and hitting the first ball he saw out to left field. Brandon Lowe would tie things up in the third with a leadoff home run of his own.

Michael Brantley gave the Astros the lead right back in the bottom frame with a well-placed single to right field that scored both Josh Reddick and Martin Maldonado giving Houston a 3-1 lead. Randy Arozarena continued to rake in game five with a solo shot in the top of the fifth to make it a one-run ballgame.

Ji-Man Choi followed that up with a solo shot of his own in the top of the eighth to knot things up at three. Then with one out tied up, Carlos Correa came to the plate ready to force game six. He did just that when he saw the fastball in the upper right corner of the strike zone, lifting it out to center field to come away with a 4-3 win.

Player of the Game: Carlos Correa

The Astros Mr. October continued to rewrite the story of the Astros 2020 season with his walk-off home run. It may have been his lone hit on the night, but it was the only one that mattered.

Next Up: Game Six; First Pitch at 5:07 pm
