It wasn’t pretty, but the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns (4-1) put it all together in the second half and rolling to a 61-56 win over the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs.

How It Happened:

The Cajuns struggled early in the contest, trailing 11-3 in the opening moments. However, Cedric Russell came alive and a pair of threes gave them a 17-16 lead. The Bulldogs took the lead back quickly and ended the first half on a 19-4 run, heading into the break with a 35-21 lead.

The second half began with a bucket from former Lafayette Christian Academy player Kalob Ledoux making it a 16-point deficit. The Cajuns put up a 13-point run later in the second half to reclaim the lead. The two teams exchanged the lead multiple times but Mylik Wilson gave the Cajuns the lead for good after a free throw with 5:10 left in regulation.

Big Number: 16

Early in the second half, the Ragin Cajuns trailed by 16 points but were able to overcome the deficit and come away with the win. Saturday’s was the second-largest comeback victory in the Bob Marlin era.

Player of the Game: Cedric Russell

Russell had one of his best performances in the vermilion and white, racking up 25 points and five rebounds. The Alexandria native caught fire in the first half from three and was a key part of the Cajuns keeping it competitive in the first half.
