Meche’s Fantasy Football Advice – Love/Hate Week 2

Posted by jamesmeche on September 15, 2021 in Blogs, Fantasy Football, Featured, Latest News, What's Hot, What's New

Week 1 is in the books, and Week 2 is right around the corner. I’ll toss you some players that I love for this week that you should start and some that I hate and will have a rough day on the job on Sunday.

LOVE

Najee Harris – Harris in Week 1 didn’t put up the stat line owners were hoping for from their second round pick, but I see a big bounce back game from the young back. In week 1 versus the Buffalo Bills, Harris was in on every snap for the Pittsburgh offense. The Steelers play the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday and we saw the Raiders give up almost 200 yards rushing to the Ravens offense and their leading back in Baltimore is Ty’Son Williams.

Matthew Stafford – Stafford looked amazing on Sunday night against the Chicago Bears. He tossed three touchdown passes, one to each of his top three receivers and two of them were over 50 yards. I expect more of that this week as the Rams take on the Colts in Indy. The Colts did not look good by any means as they gave up four touchdown passes to Russell Wilson and the Seahawks on only 23 pass attempts.

Jarvis Landry – Odell Beckham Jr. is going to miss his second week to start the 2021 season. Landry will once again step into that Wide Receiver 1 role and have another big day after putting up almost 20 fantasy points against the Chiefs in week 1. The Texans defense isn’t good and had a fluke game beating up on the Jaguars.

HATE

Juwan Johnson – I loved seeing Johnson get in the end zone twice when New Orleans trashed Green Bay. This type of production isn’t consistent and enough proof to make him your starter. He feels like a solid pick up but he hasn’t proven to be your Tight End 1 week in and week out.

Tyrod Taylor – Even though the Texans looked impressive versus the Jaguars, their next matchup is against a real opponent in the Cleveland Browns. The Browns defense doesn’t have a real weakness and they’ve got two former number one overall picks in Myles Garrett and Jadeveon Clowney, who will bully the Texans line all game long.

Robby Anderson – Robby Anderson caught a 57 yard Touchdown pass against the Jets in Week 1, but that was his only catch. Anderson seems to have become the fourth option in this Panthers offense, behind even rookie receiver Terrace Marshall Jr. Not to mention the Saints defense looked legit shutting down Aaron Rodgers and the Packers.
