Tracy Walker sealed the win on Sunday.

The former Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns star recorded a career-high 14 tackles and pulled down an interception in the final seconds of the game to help the Detroit Lions defeat the Green Bay Packers 37-30 in Sunday’s regular season finale at Ford Field.

For his performance, Walker was selected as the NFC Defensive Player of the Week on Wednesday.

The Packers, led by backup quarterback Jordan Love, were attempting a game-tying drive late in the game. With the ball at the Packers’ 40-yard line, Love lined up in the shotgun and threw a pass down the right sideline for Equanimeous St. Brown. Walker picked off the pass and moments later Detroit celebrated the upset win.

The 6-foot-1, 206-pound safety was drafted by the Lions in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft. In four seasons, Walker has appeared in 59 games (34 starts), recorded 319 tackles, 20 passes defended, 14 tackles for a loss, 2 sacks and 3 interceptions.

This past season was Walker’s best as a pro setting new highs in tackles (108) and games started (15). Walker is set to become a free agent this offseason.

Walker, who graduated from UL with a bachelor’s degree in sports management, was a four-year starter for the Ragin’ Cajuns. In his four seasons playing for the Ragin’ Cajuns, Walker recorded 276 tackles, 26 passes defended, 11 tackles for a loss and 8 interceptions while earning third team All-Sun Belt Conference honors in 2017.
