Safety Malcolm Jenkins who was originally selected by New Orleans in the first round, 14th overall, of the 2009 NFL Draft out of Ohio State made an immediate impact on the roster as a rookie on the Super Bowl XLIV Championship team. Jenkins played in fourteen games with six starts where he posted 51 tackles with more than half solo, one interception, five defended passes, one recovery and the list goes on.

In 2010, Jenkins would post 82 stops, two interceptions, and one returned 96-yard touchdown. He would go on to be selected for the second team Associated Press All-Pro Safety. He would continue with the Saints till 2013 where he joined the Philadelphia Eagles for six seasons where he was selected to the Pro Bowl three times, led the Eagles in tackles, and was an important piece to their Super Bowl LII Championship team.

In the 2020 offseason Jenkins resigned with New Orleans for his last two seasons in the NFL. He was immediately voted defensive team captain leading the secondary in stops over the last two seasons, ranking second in the club both years.

His last season at the helm, Jenkins opened all 16 games at safety second on the team with recording 79 tackles, a sack, a 34-yard interception to return for a touchdown, five passes defended, and a forced fumble.

In his 13-year career in the NFL in both clubs, Jenkins started in 191 out of his 199 games recording 1,284 tackles, 13.5 sacks, 21 interceptions returned for 590 yards with seven brought back for touchdowns, 130 passes defended, 17 forced fumbles with ten recovered and three blocked field goals.

He was selected a team nominee three times by both teams for the Walter Payton Man of the Year award while he started his “Malcolm Jenkins Foundation” in his second season in the NFL. He is immensely respected off the field as he ends his 13-year NFL career March 30th, officially.
