The Houston Astros wouldn’t let a rain delay rattle them in Game 4 of the ALCS as they battled the New York Yankees in the Bronx. Jeremy Pena launched a three-run home run, Alex Bregman delivered a big RBI single, and the Astros advanced to yet another World Series with a 6-5 win over the Bronx Bombers to sweep the ALCS.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Yankees got on the board first with two runs in the bottom of the first inning, with RBI singles coming from Giancarlo Stanton and the other from Gleyber Torres.

Anthony Rizzo added to the Yankees’ lead with an RBI double to score Isaiah Kiner-Falefa to make it 3-0 Yankees.

Jeremy Pena continued his hot postseason by tying the game with one swing of the bat, launching a three-run home run to left field. Later in the inning, Yuli Gurriel hit an RBI single to score Yordan Alvarez and give the Astros the lead in Game 4.

Rizzo came up big again in the fourth, scoring Harrison Bader on an RBI single to tie the game back up at four apiece before Bader stepped up in the bottom of the sixth and launched a solo homer to left to give the Yankees a 5-4 lead after six complete innings.

In the seventh, the Astros tied the game on an Alvarez RBI single to score Altuve. The next batter was Alex Bregman, and he delivered with an RBI single of his own to score Pena and give Houston the 6-5 lead.

BIG NUMBER: 7

The win tonight is the Astros’ seventh consecutive postseason win, becoming only the third team to sweep both the Division Series and Championship Series.

PLAYER OF THE GAME: Jeremy Pena

The rookie shortstop sensation put the Astros in the game early with a three-run homer to tie it at 3-3 and never looked back. Pena also made crucial defensive stops in the win.

UP NEXT: The Astros will return to Houston for Game 1 of the Fall Classic Friday night against the Phillies. First pitch time is TBD.
