LSU hosted Kentucky in Game 1 of the Baton Rouge Super Regional. After the game being delayed for seven hours, LSU’s offense went off against Kentucky with six home runs plus a nine strikeout performance from Paul Skenes en route to a 14-0 victory to put themselves just one win from Omaha.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Tre Morgan started the fireworks in the bottom of the first inning with a solo home run to left field on a 1-2 count to put LSU on the board with a 1-0 lead.

Two innings later, LSU poured it on. After a Dylan Crews single, Tommy White unloads with an absolute no-doubter over the left field bleachers to put LSU ahead 3-0. Later in the inning, Tre Morgan got his second homer of the game, this time launching one to right field to pad the lead a little more.

LSU was not done with the home run fest. Gavin Dugas launched his 15th homer of the season to straightaway center field to give the Tigers a 5-0 with all runs coming via the long ball.

Josh Pearson got the fifth LSU home run of the game with a solo home run to right field to give the Tigers a six-run advantage. Later in the inning, Tre Morgan got an RBI single to score Crews and add yet another run to the LSU total in Baton Rouge.

With the bases loaded, Brayden Jobert got hit in the ankle with a pitch to bring Tommy White in before a wild pitch scored Morgan and suddenly it was 9-0 at Alex Box. Then, Jordan Thompson laced a two-run single into left field for an 11-0 lead in the bottom of the fifth.

Tommy White came up in the sixth and hit his second no-doubter homer of the game almost to the exact spot as the first one for a 12-0 LSU advantage.

Brayden Jobert started the seventh with a double to right field. Then, Paxton Kling replaced him as a pinch runner before scoring on a RBI single from Jordan Thompson to pad the lead once again at 13-0.

Later in the inning, Dylan Crews launched one in the air to center field for a pop out, but it was deep enough to score Thompson and add another run to the ledger at 14-0.

Blake Money relieved Paul Skenes and finished off the Wildcats batting order as LSU took down Kentucky to take a 1-0 lead in the Baton Rouge Super Regional with a 14-0 win.
