Kyle DeBarge and LP Langevin of the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns baseball team have earned more postseason honors via the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.

The NCBWA announced DeBarge as the first-team shortstop on their All-America team.

The Barbe High School product had his best season as a Cajuns this year, as he led the group in numerous offensive categories. In addition to batting .355 and earning All-Sun Belt honors, DeBarge set a program record with 21 home runs.

“He’s a program changer,” Cajuns baseball head coach Matt Deggs said of the star shortstop.

DeBarge is projected to be an early pick in this month’s Major League Baseball Draft. He does have eligibility remaining to return to college if he chooses to.

Pitcher LP Langevin was named to the third team as a relief pitcher. The Canadian from Quebec City joined the Cajuns this year and immediately emerged as a fixture in the backend of the bullpen.

Langevin had a 3.73 ERA across 23 appearances this season. In addition, he recorded 106 strikeouts and was among the nation’s leaders in that department. He was recognized as the Sun Belt Pitcher of the Year for his efforts.

“It was an incredible feeling to have that security,” Deggs said of his closer.

The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Regionals in 2024, where they finished runner-up to host Texas A&M. They finished with a 42-20 overall record.
