Four McNeese Cowgirls land on All-SLC softball teams

McNeese placed four players on the 2026 All-Southland Conference Softball Team, the league announced Tuesday.

Kassidy Chance, Nyjah Fontenot, Alexis Dibbley and Maddie Taylor represent the Cowgirls on the team.  Chance and Fontenot were named to the first team while Dibbley and Taylor were named to the second team.
Chance, a sophomore from Mansfield, Texas led the Cowgirls with a .425 conference batting average, 34 hits, 18 RBI along with four double and 22 runs scored.

Fontenot, a junior from Lake Charles hit .326 in conference games with 15, hits, seven doubles, three homeruns, 11 RBI and 13 runs scored.
Dibbley, a junior from Moss Bluff produced a .364 average in SLC contest with 28 hits, nine doubles, five homeruns, one triple, 14 RBI, and 24 runs scored.

Taylor is a sophomore from Sterlington, La. who has been used as a pitcher and designated player this season.  She hit .288 with 21 hits, four doubles, one triple, five homeruns, 23 RBI and scored 14 runs in conference play.  In the circle, Taylor was 8-2 with a 2.95 ERA, 64.0 innings pitched and 43 strikeouts.
