The LSU and UL men’s basketball teams are set to play this season for the first time since 2018, the schools announced.
The Tigers and Ragin’ Cajuns will play on December 22nd, 2026 inside the Pete Maravich Assembly Center in Baton Rouge.
The last time the two schools faced off was the First Round of the NIT Tournament at the end of the 2017-18 season. That game featured Will Wade coaching against Bob Marlin, and the two got into a verbal altercation during the game.
LSU would win that matchup 84-76, and the in-state rivals have not met up since then.
With Wade back at LSU, he will coach against the Cajuns once again. He did win his matchups against UL while coaching at McNeese.
For Cajuns’ coach Quannas White, this will be his first matchup against the Tigers. UL is coming off of an 11-22 season in White’s first in charge.
LSU, on the other hand, went 15-17 in what ended up being Matt McMahon’s final season. They hired Wade back during the offseason and he will begin his second tenure with the Tigers.
Tipoff time for the matchup between UL and LSU will be set at a later date.
