The Houston Astros have traded Spencer Arrighetti to the Toronto Blue Jays for outfielder Daulton Varsho, according to multiple reports.
The move comes as Houston has been searching for outfield help ahead of today’s 5:00 PM trade deadline.
Varsho is a 30-year old in his seventh big league season. In 2026, he’s hitting .243 with seven home runs. Last year, he had a career season offensively, posting an OPS of over .800 for the first time. He also won a Gold Glove back in 2024.
Arrighetti, the former Louisiana Ragin’ Cajun, is in his third MLB season. He battled injuries last season and after a good start to 2026, had mightily struggled in recent outings. For the season, he has a 4.60 ERA in 17 starts.
The move comes as Houston has been red-hot, winning 11 of their last 12 while taking over first place in the American League West in the process.
