The Ragin Cajuns ended the four-game road trip on a positive note with a dominant second half to beat Georgia State (11-4, 4-2 Sun Belt) 87-54.

The Cajuns fell behind early on in the first half, down by as much as eight points. But the Cajuns were able to take a 35-31 lead at the half with Hayward Register scoring nine points in the final three minutes.

The Cajuns capitalized on the momentum with a 16-4 run midway through the second half to pull away from the Panthers to get their second win on the road this season.

Shawn Long improved his numbers from the Thursday night matchup against Georgia Southern. The senior forward stuffed the stat sheet with 23 points, 18 boards (one better than against Georgia Southern), two assists, and two blocks on the afternoon. Kasey Shepherd had a great game off the bench with 19 points, 15 of which were from the arc. The senior guard also had one rebound, one assist, and one steal.

Kevin Ware led Georgia State with 19 points, nine boards, three assists, and one steal on Saturday afternoon.

The Cajuns (7-8, 3-3 Sun Belt) will return to the friendly confines of the Cajundome for a four-game homestand, starting with South Alabama (6-10. 1-4 Sun Belt) on January 21st with tipoff set for 7:15 pm.
