1st OT: Register Straight Money
Hayward Register hasn’t been as much of a factor as some people assumed that he would be heading into the season. However, the junior guard was very effective, especially in the first half, getting nine of his 14 points in the final three minutes. This was a game that showed exactly what he’s capable of doing when he’s given the ball.
2nd OT: Defense Shuts Down Panthers In Second Half
The Ragin Cajuns defense had one of it’s better efforts all season, holding Georgia State to 54 points on the afternoon. But it’s the second half where the defense stepped up. The Panthers went ice cold from the field in the second half only making eight shots and turning the ball over nine times. And the Cajuns capitalized on those turnovers getting 18 points off of them.
3rd OT: Home Sweet Home
After a four-game road trip, the Ragin Cajuns will finally return to the Cajundome next Thursday to begin a five-game homestand against South Alabama. But it’s the last two games that the Cajuns have at home in that stretch that are crucial. They face off against currently unbeaten in conference UT Arlington who schooled the Cajuns last season on January 30th and in-state rivals UL Monroe who already has beaten the Cajuns earlier in the season. The Cajuns are currently in the middle of the standings, but will need to improve significantly to keep their undefeated record inside the Cajundome.
