New Orleans Saints head coach Dennis Allen announced Tuesday that the team has officially hired three new coaches. Those three are Bob Bicknell as Senior Offensive Assistant, Matt Clapp as Strength Coach and Sterling Moore as a Defensive Assistant.
Bicknell arrives in New Orleans with a total of 28 years of coaching experience, including 13 years in the National Football League.
Bicknell served as wide receivers coach of the Cincinnati Bengals from 2018-20, and Philadelphia Eagles (2013-15) and San Francisco 49ers (2016).
From 2010-12, Bicknell also served as a member of the Buffalo Bills’ coaching staff, serving as tight ends coach from 2010-11 and wide receivers coach in 2012.
After playing two seasons in the NFL, Clapp moved into coaching as a strength and conditioning coach in the college ranks for the past eight seasons. The past two seasons, Clapp served as assistant strength and conditioning coach at the University of Alabama.
After serving as an intern for the 2021 season, Moore enters his first full season as a member of the Saints coaching staff.
The California native played seven years in the NFL with the Saints (2016-17), Buccaneers (2015), Dallas Cowboys (2012-14) and New England Patriots (2011-12), starting 31-of-75 career games, while accumulating 185 tackles, six interceptions, 41 passes defensed, eight forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries.
