A former Ragin Cajun is lighting up the Houston Astros organization.
Right-handed pitcher Spencer Arrighetti has been named the Astros Minor League Pitcher of the Month by the team’s player development department for his 4-0 month.
Arrighetti, a product of Albuquerque, New Mexico, posted a 0.67 ERA in five appearances that included three starts. He gave up two earned runs in 27 innings while striking out 37 and holding batters to a .136 average against him.
So far on the season, Arrighetti has recorded a 4.32 ERA with 20 runs in 41.2 innings while recording 50 strikeouts across nine appearances and five starts. He is currently tied for first in the Texas League with five wins and is tied for eighth in strikeouts. He was selected in the sixth round by the Astros in the 2021 MLB Draft from Louisiana.
During his time with the Cajuns, The 6’2″ 186 lb pitcher from Cinco Ranch HS in Katy, TX went 7-6 with a 3.12 ERA, giving up 69, 29 earned runs, 29 walks, and 91 strikeouts.
