The Houston Astros have announced major changes to their baseball staff following the 2025 season.

Hitting coaches Alex Cintron and Troy Snitker both will not have their contracts renewed past this season. Michael Collins, who primarily worked with the catchers, also will not return. Assistant general manager Andrew Ball and head athletic trainer Jeremiah Randall also will not be returning.

The moves come after the Astros missed the playoffs for the first time since 2015. They finished the season 87-75, tied with the Detroit Tigers for the final Wild Card spot. However, they lost the tiebreaker, causing the postseason streak to end.

It was an injury-plagued season as well, as Houston set the Major League Baseball record for the most injured list stints.

General Manager Dana Brown along with Manager Joe Espada will be retained and stay in their current roles for the 2026 season.

The Houston Astros are broadcasted in Southwest Louisiana on ESPN 103.7 Lafayette and 104.1 Lake Charles.
