The Houston Astros put together another great offensive performance, cruising to their fifth straight American League Championship Series with a 10-1 win in game four of the ALDS against the Chicago White Sox.

How It Happened:

The White Sox took the early lead in the bottom of the second with a solo shot to center field from Gavin Sheets. The Astros responded in the top of the third with a well-hit line drive to left field by Carlos Correa to score Jose Altuve and Alex Bregman, making it a 2-1 lead

Houston poured it on in the fourth inning and it all started with Martin Maldonado hitting a one-out RBI single to get Kyle Tucker across home plate. Later in the inning, Alex Bregman hit a two-run double to center field to take a commanding 5-1 lead.

It became the Michael Brantley show in the sixth and eighth innings, hitting a pair of RBI singles to add a little more insurance to the Astros lead. It was Jose Altuve though who put the exclamation point on the win for Houston with a two-run bomb to left field in the 9th.

Big Number: 5

The Astros joined an elite group of teams on Tuesday, becoming the third team in the divisional era to reach a league championship series for five straight seasons. They joined the Atlanta Braves (1995-1999) and the Oakland A’s (1971-1975).

Player of the Game: Lance McCullers Jr.

McCullers made Dusty Baker’s decision to move him to the game four starter after the contest was postponed from Monday seemed to be the right one. The veteran went four innings and only allowed one run and struck out five in the win.

Next Up: Boston Red Sox; Game One First Pitch at 7 pm
