The Houston Astros (41-25) headed to the Bronx tonight for a four-game series with the league leader New Yor Yankees. Aaron Judge hit a walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth to win it 7-6.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Early in the first, Alex Bregman came up with Altuve and Brantley on base and launched a no-doubt three-run home run to left field to give Houston an early 3-0 lead.
In the bottom of the first, the Yankees responded with a three-run shot of their own, as Giancarlo Stanton hit a homer to right field to tie the game back up at 3-3.
To the third, where Yordan Alvarez continued his hot stretch with a three-run home run, the third of the game, and his 22nd home run of the year to make it 6-3 Astros.
In the 8th, the Yankees had the opportunity to cut the lead to one run, but Kyle Tucker robbed Anthony Rizzo of the home run to end the inning.
It would stay 6-3 until the bottom of the ninth, where Aaron Hicks tied the game on yet another three-run homer, the fourth of the night.
In the bottom of the ninth, Aaron Judge would walk it off on a single to left field to score the winning run from second and win the game 7-6 over the Astros.
BIG NUMBER: 4
Four home runs were hit in Yankee Stadium tonight, all of the three-run variety. The biggest one was Hicks, who tied the game in the ninth.
PLAYER OF THE GAME: Aaron Judge
Judge went 2-5 tonight, but his second hit was the one to send the crowd home happy tonight.
