With the MLB regular season starting up for the defending World Series champions in about seven days, the Houston Astros announced their starting rotation.
It’s no surprise when you see who starts the first two games with Justin Verlander on the mound on March 29th against the Texas Rangers and Dallas Keuchel on the hill for the second game of the four-game set.
After the offseason acquisition of Gerrit Cole, it seemed like he would be the third starter for the Astros in 2018. However, you’ll see Lance McCullers on March 31st take the mound and Cole finish up the series in Arlington against the Rangers.
Looking ahead to the Astros home opener, you’ll see Charlie Morton open up the home slate as the starting pitcher on April 2nd against the Baltimore Orioles. It’s actually quite fitting considering the fact that he got the final out in Game Seven of the World Series.
