Julian Brock is good at baseball.
The junior catcher from Fulshear, Texas was named the Sun Belt Player of the Week and one of Collegiate Baseball’s National Players of the Week for his five-homer week for the Ragin Cajuns.
A Buster Posey Award Watch List member, Brock hit .529 on the week with five homers and 14 RBIs with an OPS of 1.471 while leading Louisiana to a 4-1 week and the first series win over South Alabama in seven years.
Brock homered in four of the five contests, with two home runs coming in the eight-run fifth inning against Grambling on Tuesday night. He opened the frame with a solo shot before hitting his second grand slam in three games to finish off the inning.
