The Louisiana Ragin Cajuns have another two-sport athlete on their hands. Jam Willams is now among the likes of Elijah McGuire and Jeryl Brazil as he will be joining the Cajuns football team according to a joint announcement from head football coach Mark Hudspeth and Tony Robichaux.
At the time, it is unknown what position the senior outfielder will be playing. He does have experience at quarterback, but Williams could be used for his speedy ability as a wide receiver or secondary.
“We are excited about Jam joining the football team. We had recruited Jam out of high school and had always thought he was an extraordinary athlete,” Hudspeth said in the press release. “It’s great that our coaching staff at UL works so well together. We all want to do whatever it takes to help our university be successful.”
The Cajuns will officially report for fall camp on July 30th and open the 2017 season against Southeastern Louisiana at Cajun Field on September 2nd.
