The Louisiana Ragin Cajuns (8-10, 1-1 Sun Belt) have had a hard time busting things open offensively throughout the season. That changed on Saturday as the put together one of their best offensive performances of the season, coming away with an 11-2 win over Georgia Southern (8-11, 1-1 Sun Belt).
The Eagles got on the board in the bottom of the second when Jeddediah Fagg hit a sac bunt to score Jason Swan. However, things turned sour for Georgia Southern as the Cajuns put up a five-run fifth inning highlighted by a two-run triple by Marco Ramos.
The runs kept on coming as Louisiana extended their lead to 7-1 in the sixth with a two-run triple from Hunter Kasuls. Kole McKinnon hit another two-run triple, the third of the ballgame, in the seventh to put the ballgame out of reach.
Jack Burk improved to 2-3 on the year, allowing two runs off of five hits, walked one, and struck out two in seven innings of work.
The Cajuns will look to win the rubber match tomorrow afternoon with first pitch set for 10 am.
