Posted by clintdomingue on March 4, 2016 in Latest News

Cajuns

The Ragin Cajuns pitching staff got things done on Friday night on the way to an 8-0 shutout of the Sacred Heart Pioneers (0-4).

The Cajuns got on the board in the bottom of the third with Brenn Conrad hitting a sac fly to left field that scored Hunter Kasuls.

The Cajuns continued to score in the bottom of the fourth; this time scoring in bunches. And it all started with an RBI single by Dylan Poncho. Alex Pinero continued the scoring with a two-run single through the left side. Stefan Trosclair wrapped up the inning with a two-run double to put the Cajuns up 6-0.

The Cajuns put the game away in the seventh inning with a sac fly from Pinero. Brian Mills got the last score of the game in the top of the eighth with a groundout that led to Derek Herington getting home safely.

Gunner Leger improved to 1-1 with throwing six shutout innings. The sophomore allowed only five hits, walked one, and rang up six batters on the night.

The Cajuns (6-4) will continue their series with Sacred Heart on Saturday with first pitch scheduled for 2 pm.
