Cajuns Changing Guard from Wright to Stroman

Cajuns Basketball Win

By BEN LOVE

UL men’s basketball fans are used to seeing a blur moving across the hardwood at point guard in athletic multi-year starter Jay Wright.

As head coach Bob Marlin detailed Wednesday on “Cajun Red Zone Radio,” transfer trigger man Marcus Stroman brings a different skill set to the floor. The 6-foot, 183-pound South Carolina transfer is “a pass-first point guard” who excels at setting up teammates in the halfcourt, according to Marlin.

But that doesn’t mean the Cajuns will stray from their running ways.

Listen in to the insightful interview below, in which Marlin discusses the hype surrounding his talented trio of transfers (including wing Malik Marquetti and versatile high-flying forward Jakeenan Gant) and returning senior leaders (Johnathan Stove and Bryce Washington).

Marlin also dug into scheduling changes to the Sun Belt and an opening game in Oxford.
