Before the game tipped off on Tuesday night, it was delayed for 25 minutes after cracks showed up on the court. The court may have shown some cracks, but the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns showed no cracks in their game with a convincing 90-64 win over the Pepperdine Waves.
The game started off with both teams having trouble getting buckets, but the Cajuns were able to take a sizable lead with nine minutes remaining in the half thanks to P.J. Hardy coming off the bench and immediately making an impact with a steal and a three in 37 seconds to take a six point lead. It continued to be all Cajuns to end the half with a 10-6 run in the final minutes to hold a 15-point lead into the locker room.
The second half began with Pepperdine trying to chop away at the lead but the Cajuns were able to extend their lead to over twenty with nine minutes left in regulation and it would stay in that range for the rest of the game.
The Cajuns (10-3) will return to action on New Year’s Eve when they travel to Jonesboro to take on Arkansas State (9-2) with tipoff set for 7 pm.
