The Ragin Cajuns had a hard fought game on Saturday night against Texas State (22-18, 10-7 SBC) and fell short by the score of 2-1 to split the series.

The Bobcats got on the board first after a slow start in the top of the fifth with Luke Sherley getting one across with a single through the right side. The Cajuns knotted things up in the bottom half of the inning thanks to an Ishmael Edwards sac fly that allowed Joe Robbins to scamper over to home plate.

The Bobcats were able to get the eventual game winning run across in the top of the seventh with a bases loaded walk by Jevin Huval to Almendarez.

Wyatt Marks dropped to 3-5 on the year allowing two runs off of five hits, walking two and striking out three batters in six and a third innings of work.

The Cajuns (26-13, 11-6 SBC) will try to win the rubber match on Sunday with first pitch set for 1 pm.
