After five years with the Ragin Cajuns football program, offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Jay Johnson is headed home.
Johnson, who had been in his position with the Cajuns since Mark Hudspeth’s arrival in 2011, has been named Minnesota’s new offensive coordinator according to a source that confirmed the report after the Golden Gophers 21-14 win over Central Michigan in the Quick Lane Bowl.
An official announcement could be made as soon as Tuesday afternoon.
The Cajuns offense was consistently one of the best offenses in the Sun Belt Conference under Johnson, averaging more than 29.5 points every year.
