The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns hosted the 41st Annual Louisiana Classics at Oakbourne Country Club in Lafayette this week. Texas A&M took home the team title, while the Cajuns’ Malan Potgieter won his second straight individual title at the event.
For Texas A&M, it is their fourth team title in the last five years at the Louisiana Classics. They claimed the trophy in 2022, 2023, and 2024 before LSU took it home in 2025. Their 2026 win came with a final team score of -24.
Potgieter won last year’s event in thrilling fashion in a playoff. This year, he started out hot with an opening round of 65 to put him at -7 and give him the lead. He shot -5 in the second round to bring his score to -12 and keep the lead.

Then, in the final round, Potgieter battled throughout the day to a score of -3, bringing his final three-round total to -15. Middle Tennessee’s Carter Maneth made a charge with a final round of -4 and total score of -12, but it was not enough to run down the Louisiana golfer in his quest for a repeat title.
With the win, Potgieter becomes the first ever two-time individual winner of the Louisiana Classics.
