The hitting for the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns (24-14-1, 11-4-1 Sun Belt) is really starting to become contagious. The evidence is from the first game of a doubleheader on Saturday afternoon against the Little Rock Trojans (14-24, 6-10 Sun Belt) where they amassed 13 hits on the way to a 9-4 victory.
The bats made some noise from the oustet as Steven Sensley sent one over the right field wall in the first with two outs to make it 2-0.
Alex Pinero increased the Cajuns lead to 3-0 with a solo shot down the right field line in the top of the fourth. The Cajuns began to truly pull away in the sixth inning when Pinero was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded.
Later in the inning, Izzy Edwards hit a two-run double. That was followed up by Brad Antchak hitting a two-run single up the middle to put the final nail in the Trojans hopes of taking down the Cajuns.
Gunner Leger improved to 8-1 on the season allowing three runs off of four hits in seven innings of work. The junior also walked two and struck out seven on the afternoon.
The Cajuns will look to clinch another series later today with first pitch scheduled for 6 pm.
