The Ragin Cajuns apparently didn’t want to play a full nine innings on Sunday afternoon against UT-Arlington (23-22, 9-12 SBC). So they got things done in seven innings highlighted by Stefan Trosclair having one of his best performances of the season.
The Cajuns got things started in the top of the third with Derek Herrington hitting a double to right center field to score Joe Robbins to make it 1-0. It was after that, the floodgates opened, as Brian Mills and Trosclair blasted a pair of multi-run home runs later in the inning to make it 6-0.
UT-Arlington got on the board in the bottom of the first when Williams grounded out to shortstop and that would score McLean. But the Cajuns continued make a bigger gap in the top of the fourth with an RBI single from Trosclair and a two-run double by Brenn Conrad later in the inning.
UT Arlington tried to make the gap smaller in the bottom of the fifth, scoring three runs, but the Cajuns began to put things away with six more runs coming across in the top of the sixth.
The Cajuns got three more across in the seventh and that was pretty much all she wrote even after a solo shot from Koedyker in the bottom half of the inning.
Hogan Harris was credited with the win allowing one hit in one inning of relief work.
The Cajuns (29-16, 14-7 SBC) will return to the Tigue next weekend to take on Appalachian State (13-31, 8-16 SBC) with first pitch on Friday set for 6 pm.
