The red hot Louisiana Ragin Cajuns season ends with a letdown on Friday afternoon.
Despite Jay Wright’s best efforts, Georgia State was able to take down the Cajuns 86-76. The Cajuns got started on the right foot keeping control for much of the first half.
However, the Panthers from Georgia State were able to get back out in front with 8:59 remaining with a pair of free throws. This continued and they headed into the locker room up by nine points.
Georgia State continued to take control in the second half, getting out to a 12-point lead with 13:36 remaining. This continued to hold true the rest of the way even if the Cajuns got it down to eight points with :54 seconds left.
By the Numbers:
27: Number of points for Jay Wright. This was his 12th game of 20 points or more this season.
17: Number of points off turnovers for Georgia State.
38: Cajuns field goal percentage. Not exactly what you want to do and it was even worse from beyond as they only made five of their 26 attempts from three-point range..
