The postseason honors continued for the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns on Wednesday with return specialist Chris Smith picked up his third All-America honor after being tabbed a Second Team All-American kick returner by the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA), the organization announced on Wednesday afternoon.
Smith, a native of Louisville, Mississippi, has now picked up All-America honors from three different publications after receiving First Team All-America status from Pro Football Focus (PFF) and 247Sports/CBS Sports. He was also named a First Team All-Sun Belt Conference performer by the league and PFF.
Smith is one of the most electric kick returners in the nation, boasting 617 kick return yards and two touchdowns. On the season, he ranks fourth nationally in return yards and is one of four FBS returners with two kick-return scores.
The redshirt sophomore also racked up Third Team All-Sun Belt Conference honors for All-Purpose yards after totaling 1,137 yards this season, good for 30th in the nation.
