The matchup between the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns and the LSU Tigers started at noon. After multiple weather delays, the Cajuns advanced to the Baton Rouge regional final by the score of 4-2.
The Tigers struck early with Amanda Doyle hitting an RBI double out to left field in the first.
Bailey Landry followed that up with an RBI triple out to right centerfield in the bottom of the third to make it 2-0. After the final weather delay, the Cajuns got on the board with Kara Gremillion scoring off of a fielding error by Amber Serrett.
DJ Sanders came up to the plate right after and with a 1-2 count, she sent one flying out to right to score three runs and give the Cajuns the lead.
Alex Stewart got her 27th win of the 2017 season allowing two runs off eight hits and struck out three in a complete game effort.
The Cajuns will have to wait until tomorrow to find out who their opponent will be due to the multiple weather delays on Saturday pushing back the start of the elimination game between Fairfield and McNeese State. First pitch is currently set for 1:30 pm
