For the third straight week, the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns had a player honored for her performance over the weekend. However, they weren’t the only one honored as DJ Sanders was joined by South Alabama’s MC Nichols as the Sun Belt Co-Players of the Week.
Sanders continues to have a great season and during last weekend’s Mardi Gras Invitational she hit ,471, hit five for extra bases, and posted eight RBIs en route to a 5-1 weekend during the invitational.
Nichols was also honored for a very strong weekend where she hit .636, two RBIs, and a .909 slugging percentage. The true freshman is currently batting a team-best .500 and tied for the team lead with 16 hits.
Devin Brown from South Alabama was named pitcher of the week with a pair of complete game shutouts during the South Alabama Invitational.
The Cajuns will return to action on Friday when they take on Alcorn State in the Ragin Cajuns Invitational with first pitch set for 4 pm.
