Houston Astros’ utility player Mauricio Dubon has been named a Rawlings Gold Glove Award winner.
The 31-year old played a combination of positions for the Astros once again this season. He made an appearance at seven positions this season, all except for pitcher or catcher. Left field and second base were his most common spots, but he also made plenty of appearances at shortstop and third base.
Dubon made just nine errors on the season and made no more than three at any one position. His versatility in the field was once again an asset for Houston.
At the plate, Dubon hit .241 with seven homers and 33 RBIs. The Astros finished the season 87-75, narrowly missing out on the Postseason.
