Summer Ellyson continues to amaze for the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns (8-2) early on in the season. Just a few days ago, she pitched 11 innings against the Florida Gators and this time around she threw a no-hitter on Thursday en route to a 4-0 victory over Southeastern Louisiana (7-3).
The Cajuns got on the board in the bottom of the third off of a sacrifice bunt from Cassidy Chaumont that was able to get Kara Gremillion across home plate safely. Later in the inning, Alissa Dalton made it 2-0 after a groundout from Kourtney Gremillion.
The Cajuns manufactured another run in the fifth with Dalton stealing third and scoring off the throwing error.
Ellyson improved to 4-0 on the season, walking two and striking out five over the course of seven innings.
The Cajuns will return to action on Friday, taking on North Florida with first pitch set for 5 pm.
