Trey Amos is headed to Mobile.

The former Catholic High-New Iberia star and current Ole Miss star cornerback has officially accepted an invite to the Reese’s Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama.

The 6-foot-1, 190-pound senior flourished this season playing for the Rebels. Amos recorded 47 tackles (36 solo), 13 pass breakups and three interceptions.

Amos arrived in Oxford earlier this year after playing for Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide during the 2023 season. He appeared in 14 games primarily s a backup as he recorded 12 tackles, and five pass breakups.

Amos began his collegiate career playing for the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns. In three seasons in Lafayette, he appeared in 34 games, recorded 59 tackles (46 solo), 14 pass deflections, one forced fumble, and one interception.

Amos was a multi-sport star at Catholic High.

He helped the Panthers to a 2017 state championship and then a runner-up finish in 2018. Amos also lettered in basketball and track and field, including winning the Class 2A state title in the long jump.

Amos’ accepted Senior Bowl invite comes less than a week since another former area star did the same.

Former St. Thomas More star and TCU wide receiver Jack Bech will be headed to Mobile as well.

The Biletnikoff Award semifinalist — the award given to college football’s most outstanding wide receiver — became the sixth 1,000-yard season in Horned Frogs history. The 6-foot-2, 215-pound Bech wrapped up the regular season with 62 receptions for 1,034 yards and nine touchdowns. He also posted four 100-yard games this season and three contests with multiple touchdown grabs.

The Lafayette native began his collegiate career playing for the LSU Tigers.

As a freshman in 2021, he led the Tigers in receptions with 43 for 489 yards and three receiving touchdowns. Dealing with injuries and reduced playing times, Bech only had 16 receptions for 200 yards and one touchdown in 2022.

The Reese’s Senior Bowl will be played on Saturday, February 1st at Hancock Whitney Stadium in Mobile. The game will be broadcast live on the NFL Network.

The Reese’s Senior Bowl is regarded as the preeminent college football all-star game and the first stage in the NFL Draft process. More than 900 NFL personnel, including representatives from all 32 franchises, will be on hand for the entire week’s worth of practices and game.
