The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns football team had eight All-Sun Belt Conference selections, the league announced on Thursday.

Jax Harrington and Jaden Dugger led the way as First-Team members. Jordan Lawson was on the second team, while Bill Davis was a Third-Team selection. Bryant Williams, Tyree Skipper, Brent Gordon Jr, and Zylan Perry earned Honorable Mention.

Harrington, a senior offensive guard from Erath, has been a staple on the Cajuns’ offensive line for years now. He started the season at guard but moved to tackle at various points throughout the year due to injuries. He was a fixture on the line wherever he played, helping the Cajuns through a brutal season injury-wise up front.

Dugger, a senior linebacker, found his footing this year at the mike position. He moved around in his first season with the Cajuns a year ago, struggling to find a main role. His move to mike proved a good one, as he replaced KC Ossai and led the team in tackles with 118 to go along with three sacks.

Lawson, a senior defensive lineman, was a force up front on the UL defense. He totaled 47 tackles with a team-leading 4.5 sacks. Additionally, he had a forced fumble.

Davis, a junior running back, paced the running game for Louisiana this season. He had 743 yards and seven touchdowns on the season. Perhaps his biggest moment came last week against ULM when he broke a 76-yard touchdown on 4th and short to help the Cajuns gain bowl eligiblity.

Williams, a senior offensive tackle, helped Harrington to anchor the offensive line. Williams played every game but one, being a consistent force at the left tackle position.

Skipper, a senior safety, came off of season-ending ACL surgery a year ago to be a starter in the Cajuns’ secondary. He totaled 52 tackles and an interception before his season was cut short by a suspension after an on-field brawl after the Texas State game.

Gordon Jr, a true freshman at corner, excelled in his opening campaign. He was third on the team in tackles and also added an interception. He was ranked as a top 20 true freshman in the country by ESPN.

Lastly, Perry, a junior running back, helped Davis to pace the running game. He had 664 yards and eight touchdowns, which ranked second on the team to just Lunch Winfield.

The Ragin’ Cajuns finished the season 6-6 and are currently waiting to find out which bowl game they will be invited to participate in.
