A former Louisiana Ragin Cajun and St Thomas More Cougar has notched his first career win in The Show.
The night after former McNeese Cowboy Jace Peterson went 5-5 with two home runs and his 500th big league hit, Harris stepped on the mound and delivered a five-inning performance where he only gave up four hits, three runs, three walks, and two strikeouts.
The performance was good enough for his first career victory as the A’s beat the Pirates 9-5 at PNC Park. Peterson had another strong game with a two-run double in the first inning.
Harris, a Lafayette native and former St Thomas More Cougar, has had two strong outings now after a rather forgetful debut. The Ragin Cajuns product sees tp have found his footing in a big league clubhouse and proving that he belongs.
Other than Harris, names such as Hayden Cantrelle, Spencer Arrighetti, and Connor Cooke are just some of the other players from the Louisiana baseball program having success at the professional ranks.
