The Sun Bet Conference released their postseason honors for softball on Tuesday, and the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns had multiple players represented.

Haley Hart was named Sun Belt Freshman of the Year as well as an All-SBC Second Team selection. Kennedy Marceaux was named an All-SBC First Team player, while Brooke Otto and Mia Liscano joined Hart on the second team.

Hart, a freshman standout, batted .369 in her first collegiate season. She is the 11th Ragin’ Cajuns to win Freshman of the Year honors in the Sun Belt. Emily Smith won the award last year, giving the Cajuns two in a row. Hart also hit nine home runs and drove in 39 runs this season.

Marceaux, a Kaplan native and Alabama transfer, switched positions to catcher this year and made an immediate impact for the Cajuns. She holds a .331 average with five home runs and 36 RBIs. Her defense behind the plate has been steady as well.

Liscano has led the Cajuns with a .401 average this season. She’s also moved around on the infield, now playing shortstop due to injuries throughout the season.

Otto has been the Cajuns’ best run producer. She’s batting .343 with a team-leading 11 homers and 46 RBIs. Otto and Marceaux share the team-lead with 14 doubles each.

The Cajuns will begin Sun Belt Tournament play Wednesday, May 6th at 7 PM as the #8 seed against the #9 seed Troy Trojans.
