Huston Silences Cajuns Bats, Even Series

Posted by clintdomingue on April 1, 2017 in Latest News

Cajuns Baseball

After the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns (15-12, 5-3 Sun Belt) put up 11 runs on Friday night, Thomas Huston and South Alabama (16-11, 6-2 Sun Belt) were able to shut them out on Saturday.

“When you score a lot of runs like we did the night before, the next game runs are at a premium.” Robichaux said of the 6-0 loss.

Will Luft got the Jags on the board with an RBI double out to right center field in the top of the second.

South Alabama extended their lead in the fourth with LaBounty hitting a leadoff home run to center field. The Jaguars would get two more runs across later in the inning off of sac flies.

The final nail would be put in by Brendan Donovan hitting a two-run single in the ninth.

Nick Lee dropped to 4-3 allowing four runs off of six hits, walking four, and striking out three in four innings of work.

The Cajuns will have to get over the loss in quick fashion as the series finale has been moved up to 11 am due to inclement weather coming into the area on Sunday.
