Just three years ago, Keenan Lewis signed a major deal with the New Orleans Saints. Now, the Saints have released the seven-year veteran on Friday evening.
Lewis was set to make $2.7 million in 2016 and was coming off of a injury plagued season where he was limited to six games in after a torn MCL, labrum, and sports hernia. He posted a farewell message to New Orleans on Instagram.
This comes after it was announced that Cortland Finnegan was signed to the Saints, which seemed to be writing on the wall that Lewis would no longer be with the team after dealing with several injuries the last few seasons while wearing the black and gold.
