This weekend’s matchup is considered to be one of the biggest for the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns (18-12, 7-3 Sun Belt) this season as they traveled up to Conway to take on the defending national champions in Coastal Carolina (19-11, 7-3 Sun Belt).
With Gunner Leger and Alex Cunningham both on the mound in the first game of a three game set, it was undoubtedly going to be a low scoring contest and that’s what we got as the Cajuns came away with a 1-0 victory over the Chanticleers.
The lone run came in the top of the second with Kennon Fontenot hitting a solo shot to right field.
Leger improved to 6-1 on the season allowing two hits, walked two, and struck out two in seven innings of work. Dylan Moore got his seventh save of the season striking out one in his lone inning of work.
The Cajuns will look to take the series on Saturday with first pitch set for 1 pm.
