For some time now the Fournette family has had an insurance policy on each of Leonard’s legs. This isn’t the first time we’ve had a college athlete take out an insurance policy on a part of their body. To keep things as close to home as possible, one Jamarcus Russell had a policy taken out on himself before he graduated from LSU, lets hope things go better for Leonard Fournette. To give a more recent example former LSU basketball star, Ben Simmons, also had a policy taken out to protect himself from injury. So knowing that this isn’t the most uncommon thing when it comes to high profile college athletes, what makes Fournettes story unique? Well, as I mentioned the Fournettes have 2 policies one for each leg, and both policies are worth a cool $10 Million each. Without knowing the exact specifics of the policies we can expect, through a report on cbssports.com, that each policy has a premium of around $8,000. Leonard is primed to have a killer junior season, and he may play even better knowing that he has a backup plan already set for him. All in all though, we hope Leonard never has to cash in on either one of those insurance precautions.
