It’s a new era for LSU basketball as the Tigers have hired former VCU head coach Will Wade. During Wednesday’s Bumper to Bumper Sports with Ben Love, Deputy Director of LSU Athletics Eddie Nunez came on to talk about the hire.
He also discussed a bit of what the process was like and dealing with the NCAA Tournament.
“When the process took over, the first thing we had to do was start assessing what candidates were out there. The tough part we had was understanding the timing with how teams were going to do in the NCAA tournament. Throughout the whole process, it was evident that Will was somebody Joe had been assessing for years now. He was somebody from the first day that was very high on our list and somebody we just wanted to have the opportunity to see if it was a really good fit.”
