The Louisiana Ragin Cajuns (17-3, 7-0 Sun Belt) are heading out of the state of Texas still undefeated in conference play with a dominant performance over Texas State (13-8, 6-2 Sun Belt) on Saturday afternoon by the score of 80-55.
The Cajuns came out of the gates strong with a 15-4 run, but had a scare from the Bobcats late in the first half with an 8-0 run. It wasn’t enough though as the Cajuns were able to take a 30-20 lead into the break after a slam dunk from Jonathan Stove.
The second half was much of the same with the Cajuns starting to pull away early, making it 45-28 before the first media timeout. Malik Marquetti, who put up a career high 19 points on the afternoon, officially put the game out of reach with a three-pointer with 8:06 left to make it 65-42.
The Cajuns will return to the Cajundome on Thursday night when they take on South Alabama (11-9, 4-3 Sun Belt) with tipoff set for 7:15 pm.
